Interior Minister Naqvi Hands Over PM Shehbaz’s Letter to Iranian Leadership

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a significant diplomatic meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran, during which the two senior officials engaged in detailed discussions on the evolving diplomatic process between the United States and Iran.

Since February, Pakistan has taken on a pivotal role as a diplomatic bridge between Tehran and Washington, particularly following the renewed aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime against the Islamic Republic.

Sources familiar with the meeting confirmed that both sides exchanged views on recent developments surrounding the US-Iran negotiations, as well as a range of broader regional concerns. A defining moment of the talks came when Minister Naqvi formally presented a special letter directed at Iran’s leadership — a gesture that reinforced the depth of ongoing engagement between Islamabad and Tehran.

Prior to this meeting, Naqvi had also met his Iranian counterpart, Interior Minister Eskandar Mo’meni, where he conveyed a direct message from Pakistan’s top leadership. During those talks, the minister stated that he had brought “a letter and an important message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Ali Khamenei.”

He expressed measured optimism, voicing hope that “the situation would improve and that the matter would be resolved amicably.” The diplomatic outreach reflects both nations’ shared commitment to maintaining open channels of communication during a period of heightened regional tension.
