Prakash Raj Faces Court Action Over Alleged Multiple Voter IDs

Veteran Indian actor Prakash Raj, one of the most renowned names in Indian cinema is facing legal proceedings. A Bengaluru court has ordered a non-bailable warrant against Prakash Raj after allegations surfaced that he possessed more than one voter ID card.

As per Indian media reports, the court acted after Prakash Raj ailed to attend court hearings despite receiving several summons. Reports claimed that, from 2019 the actor engaged in this case, when a lawyer Dilip Kumar filed a complaint at the Hilasuru Gate police station in Bengaluru under Election Commission of India regulations, which state that a person may be registered to vote in only one constituency.

According to reports, this legal action has come a few days after Prakash Raj held a press conference on the issue related to the Karnataka town of Dharmasthala, however, the actor has rejected these allegations in the past. He maintains that he votes only from Tamil Nadu.

According to sources, it is likely that Prakash Raj’s lawyers will approach the high court against this court order or file an urgent bail application to cancel the warrant.

On the other hand, if we talk about film engagements, Prakash Raj has recently been seen in the Tamil film ‘Kaalidas 2’ and Telugu films ‘Seetha Pennam’, ‘S Saraswati’ and ‘Dikvit: A Love Story’. His upcoming films include the Hindi film ‘Drishyam 3’, Telugu films ‘Varanasi’ and ‘Spirit’ while the Tamil film ‘Janna Naigan’.
