Hezbollah reaffirms defence of Lebanon over continued Israeli violations
Hezbollah says that Israel is repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement and continues attacks on different areas in Lebanon. The group says it is monitoring all violations and reserves the right to defend Lebanon and its people.
In a statement, Hezbollah reported that Israeli airstrikes hit residential buildings in the city of Nabatieh and the town of Meifdoun. Israeli drones also struck open areas on the outskirts of Frun in southern Lebanon.
The group further said that Israeli forces have been intimidating civilians by using stun grenades near towns such as Burj Qalawayh and Braashit. It also reported that suspicious objects were dropped by aircraft over Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Kfar Tebnit.
Hezbollah referred to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed between Iran and the United States, saying it requires an immediate end to hostilities, including in Lebanon. It said the ongoing Israeli strikes violate this agreement.
Israeli forces have also continued airstrikes in southern Lebanon, including areas like Mayfadoun and Nabatieh. These attacks have taken place despite diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions.
Reports say that since March 2, ongoing violence in Lebanon has caused thousands of deaths and injuries, showing the heavy human cost of the conflict.
Hezbollah says it will continue to respond and defend Lebanon if attacks continue.
