Mariam Michael Speaks Out on Divorce Stigma and Her Marriage at 17

On these days in our society where divorce topic and discussion is become a taboo, Pakistani actress and model Mariam Michael has boldly revealed about one of the most intimate experiences of her life, that she got married at the age of 17 and after two years at the age of 19 got divorced. The actress shared a heartfelt message on social media, called out the stigma around divorce, and stimulated others to embrace every stage of their lives with confidence.

Mariam took her Instagram and shared a prolonged note in a photo and posted it for her fans and followers and for every women out there move forward without feeling ashamed, also she clarify her decision that openly let the people know about her marital break-up was not compelled by a plea for sympathy but by a courage to normalize talks about divorce and separation.

She shared,“I got married at 17 and divorced at 19. We were two young people who simply weren’t ready for marriage. Sometimes things don’t work out, and that’s okay. We chose to end our marriage with respect, and over the years we’ve both moved on. Today, there is no resentment, no bitterness, and no conflict between us. I genuinely wish him nothing but the best, and I know he wishes the same for me.”

Reflecting on the experience, Mariam said she refuses to erase any part of her past simply because it makes others uncomfortable.
