PM Shehbaz Sharif to Attend Khamenei's Funeral in Tehran on July 3
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for an official visit to Türkiye after attending the funeral of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran.
The prime minister attended the funeral at the special invitation of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. He led a high-level Pakistani delegation during the visit.
The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and other senior government officials.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and said he had guided the Iranian nation for many decades with dedication. He also expressed solidarity with the people of Iran and prayed for the late leader.
Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, members of parliament, and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also attended the funeral ceremony.
After completing his visit to Tehran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Türkiye on an official visit.
