Iranian Army Vows Strong Response After US Missile Attack
The Iranian Army has promised a “decisive” response after a US missile strike hit the Bambur military barracks in Iranshahr, killing seven soldiers and injuring several others, according to Iranian media.
Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, quoting the Army’s Ground Forces, said the attack targeted the military base in southeastern Iran and “will not go unanswered.”
The Army said 13 US missiles struck military dormitories and accommodation buildings early Wednesday, causing casualties. It added that the injured soldiers are receiving medical treatment.
The attack comes as the United States continues military operations linked to the Strait of Hormuz and a naval blockade on Iran.
US President Donald Trump said the United States would increase military pressure on Iran and warned of more attacks in the coming days.
Speaking to Fox News, Trump said, “The US military is going to hit Iran hard over the next three days.” He also warned that power plants and bridges could be targeted if Iran does not return to negotiations.
According to Axios, Trump met with senior national security officials on Tuesday to discuss plans for expanding US military operations inside Iran.
US officials said recent operations have focused on Iranian air defense systems, radar sites, anti-ship missile positions, and drone launch locations.
Meanwhile, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it carried out strikes on Iranian military and naval targets, while Iranian media reported explosions in Bandar Abbas, Kish Island, and Bushehr Province as tensions between the two countries continued to rise.
