Rafael Engineer Dies From Injuries Sustained in Iranian Missile Strike on Haifa

An engineer employed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, one of Israel’s leading defense manufacturers, has died from injuries sustained during an Iranian ballistic missile strike on the northern city of Haifa earlier this year. Israeli authorities announced on Friday that Michael Katz died from wounds he suffered after the April 5 attack during the conflict between Iran and Israel.
The strike took place during Iran’s Operation True Promise 4, in which Tehran launched waves of missiles and drones targeting sites across Israel. The attack caused damage in Haifa, with Israeli officials confirming casualties and destruction resulting from the missile impacts.
According to an Israeli Air Force investigation, the ballistic missile that struck Haifa was not intercepted after it broke apart while in flight, causing its projected trajectory to change unexpectedly. The findings highlighted the challenges faced by Israel’s air defense systems in responding to the evolving characteristics of the incoming missile.
