15 July, 2026 19:52

A senior Iranian military commander has said the country’s armed forces are now stronger than they were during the 12-day conflict with Israel, stressing that Iran has expanded its military capabilities since the US-Israeli military campaign in June 2025. Speaking on the country’s defense preparedness, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, Deputy Coordinator of the Iranian Army and Army Chief of Staff, said the military continues to strengthen its capabilities in response to evolving threats.

Sayyari said Iran closely monitors potential threats and adjusts its military development accordingly, asserting that the country’s current capabilities exceed those demonstrated during the 12-day war. He added that the Iranian armed forces have significantly improved both their personnel readiness and military equipment since the conflict.

The senior commander also said the Iranian military had drawn important lessons from recent wars, which are being incorporated into training and operational planning. According to Sayyari, applying these lessons has enhanced the army’s combat readiness and will further strengthen its ability to respond to future security challenges.
