Iran Says Diplomatic Talks With US Continue Through Mediators
Iran said on Monday that diplomatic contacts with the United States are continuing through mediators despite ongoing US military strikes.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Iran has received messages through mediators in recent days and that diplomatic efforts remain active. However, he did not provide further details.
Meanwhile, oil prices eased after Iran said diplomatic exchanges were continuing, even as fighting between the two countries continued.
Oil prices had earlier reached their highest level in about a month due to concerns that the conflict could disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil supplies.
Brent crude was trading at around $89 per barrel after earlier rising above $91, its highest level since June 11. US benchmark West Texas Intermediate also remained higher after recent gains.
