PSX Ends Higher After Volatile Trading Session
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw a volatile trading session on Monday as heavy selling in the morning pushed the benchmark KSE-100 Index down by more than 1,000 points.
Investor sentiment was affected by the growing conflict between the United States and Iran and rising international oil prices. However, late buying helped the market recover before the close.
The KSE-100 Index ended the day at 175,927.73, up 124.95 points, or 0.07%.
Most of the selling was seen in automobile, cement, banking, fertilizer, oil and gas, oil marketing, and power sectors.
The market had already posted heavy losses last week, with the KSE-100 Index falling 3.5%, or 6,438.97 points.
Meanwhile, international oil prices continued to rise, with Brent crude climbing above $90 per barrel as concerns grew over possible supply disruptions due to the US-Iran conflict.
