Iran Condemns US Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure, Calls Attacks Deliberate

Iran has strongly condemned recent US attacks on civilian infrastructure, accusing Washington of deliberately targeting facilities essential to the daily lives of ordinary people. Speaking at his weekly press briefing on Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei denounced the strikes on medical centers, healthcare facilities, bridges, and other public infrastructure, arguing that no political or military objective could justify the suffering inflicted on civilians.

Baghaei said the attacks reflected what he described as America’s “destructive logic,” asserting that strikes on civilian and non-military facilities in several Iranian provinces amounted to attacks on human security rather than military targets. He stressed that damaging critical infrastructure affects the lives of countless civilians, including children awaiting medical treatment and families whose access to essential services has been disrupted.

The Iranian spokesperson also paid tribute to residents of the country’s southern regions, describing them as the “guardians of the Persian Gulf and the Makran coasts” who deserve greater respect for their resilience. Referring to the US strike on an elementary school in Minab, Hormozgan Province, on February 28, Baghaei claimed the attack was deliberate and unjustifiable. He added that the destruction of infrastructure had compounded the hardships faced by communities enduring extreme summer temperatures in southern Iran.
