Iran, Pakistan Reaffirm Commitment to Expanding Strategic Partnership

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has described Pakistan as a trusted partner and brotherly nation, saying the relationship between the two countries goes beyond conventional neighborly ties and is rooted in deep historical, cultural, religious, and fraternal bonds. During the credentialing ceremony of Pakistan’s new Ambassador to Iran, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, the president praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan’s military officials for their role in easing regional tensions and promoting stability. He said the ongoing consultations between Tehran and Islamabad are highly valued by the Iranian government and people.

President Pezeshkian stressed that bilateral cooperation has not yet reached its full potential and called for the swift implementation of previously agreed initiatives. He urged both countries to expand collaboration across key sectors, including trade, the economy, security, and other areas of mutual interest, emphasizing that stronger cooperation would benefit both nations and contribute to regional peace.

Ambassador Imran Ahmed Siddiqui described Iran-Pakistan relations as a model of historic solidarity, noting that the two countries have consistently supported each other during difficult times. He expressed his commitment to enhancing trade, investment, and infrastructure cooperation during his tenure while underscoring the importance of close security coordination. The ambassador added that challenges facing the Islamic world should be resolved through unity and dialogue to prevent foreign interference, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to remaining a sincere and reliable partner of Iran.
