Dee Snider Apologizes to Kelly Osbourne Following Ozzy Osbourne Dispute

Dee Snider has reached out to Kelly Osbourne with an apology over comments he made about  Kelly’s late father Ozzy Osbourne.

The prior Twisted Sister frontman addressed the situation on X on August 18, saying he was sorry for hurting Kelly with his remarks. The disagreement began after Snider made comments about Ozzy’s career and the contributions of musicians who worked with him.

Before posting his apology, Snider shared a fan’s message suggesting that Kelly may have felt her father’s legacy was being diminished by his comments. The fan advised Snider to simply explain that hurting Kelly was never his intention.

“From what I saw on Instagram, Kelly seemed hurt because she took it as diminishing Ozzy’s legacy — not because the songwriting history itself is false. Text strips away tone. I know you respect Ozzy. If it were me, I’d simply say: ‘I’m sorry it hurt you. That was never my intent.'”

Snider expressed his thanks to the fan and said he was searching for the right response. He later tagged Kelly in his own post and wrote that he was sorry his comments had hurt her. He also expressed his sympathies over the loss of her father.

The dispute began after a social media discussion about bassist Bob Daisley’s claims regarding his contributions to Ozzy’s No Rest for the Wicked. Snider joined the conversation with comments about Ozzy’s songwriting, prompting Kelly to defend her father’s legacy.

Kelly said Ozzy’s achievements as a musician and songwriter speak for themselves and are supported by his friends, collaborators and millions of fans.

With Snider now apologizing and expressing his condolences, the dispute between the two appears to have ended.
