Nicola Coughlan Shares Rare Insight Into Relationship With Jake Dunn

Nicola Coughlan who get extensive acknowledgment to perform Penelope Featherington character in the Bridgerton series, has shared an exceptional sight into her relationship with boyfriend Jake Dunn, enlightening how both makes time for each other even with their busy acting careers.

During a recent interview, Coughlan unwrapped about her relationship Dunn, and said her 26-year-old boyfriend made a struggle to stay close to her even though she was working out of the country.

Coughlan’s boyfriend moved to Malta whereas Coughlan was shooting The Magic Faraway Tree, which is planned to arrive in cinemas on August 21, 2026. Instead of making a short visit, he decided to remain in Malta while she continued filming.

“He actually was in Malta the whole time I was filming, so I can’t complain,” Coughlan said.

She clarified that Dunn formerly came to Malta while he had a break from his own work. Though, he enjoyed being there so much that he decided to stay longer.

“He came for a visit and then stayed. He was on a break from filming at that time. He’s like, ‘I think I’m gonna stay.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, stay!’” she recalled.

Coughlan further the filming experience as a happy and unforgettable period. She said some cast members, including Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy, also had their partners, friends and children around during the shoot, creating a warm and family-like atmosphere.

The pair were initial connected romantically in 2024 and have usually remained silent about their relationship. The actress has earlier talk over the encounters of having her private life exposed to the public.

Coughlan later made their relationship public on Instagram by wishing Dunn a happy birthday. The duo made their red carpet debut together at a BAFTA Television event in April 2025, marking the couple’s first official public appearance together.
