WhatsApp Launches Three New Security Features

WhatsApp has introduced new security features to help protect users and their accounts. Meta announced the new features in a blog post, saying three new tools are being introduced to improve account security.

WhatsApp already offers two-step verification, which uses a six-digit PIN to help prevent hackers from accessing accounts. The feature is now being improved by allowing users to create a longer password made up of letters and numbers, making it harder for hackers to guess.

The company is also improving its passkey feature. Users will be able to add more than one passkey to their WhatsApp account.

According to Meta, this feature will be useful for people who use phones running both iOS and Android.

Passkeys are digital keys that are easier and more secure to use because they are not stored on web servers. Instead of a long password, users can log in using a four-digit PIN or biometric information such as a fingerprint or face scan.

The third feature is being introduced for Android users. They will be able to see more information about calls received from numbers that are not saved in their contacts.

For example, users may be able to see whether the number is from another country or belongs to someone who is a member of a group they are also part of.

The company said the rollout of these features has already started and they will become available to all users over the coming weeks.
