Students Protest Over Education Mismanagement and Recruitment Irregularities in India
Student protests have intensified in India, with civil service exam candidates in Bihar taking to the streets over issues related to education and recruitment.
The protesters are demanding transparency in examinations, timely recruitment and action against irregularities and alleged paper leaks. They have been raising these concerns for a long time.
According to Deccan Herald, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi accused the Modi government of using the police to avoid accountability over the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam controversy.
Protesters and local citizens have alleged that police action against students has included baton charges, water cannons and arrests.
Instead of accepting the students’ demands, the government has faced criticism over its response to the protests. Protest leader Aman Kumar said the youth movement against problems in the education system and paper leak scandals will continue until the education minister resigns.
The protests have highlighted growing concerns among Indian students over recruitment delays, examination irregularities and a lack of transparency in the education system.
