Armed Attackers Open Fire on Security Forces in AJK, FC Soldier Martyred

Armed protesters opened fire on security forces in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the death of an FC soldier and injuries to a Pakistan Rangers personnel.

According to Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police, armed attackers opened indiscriminate fire at the Kupra Police Post on Chhatra Topi Road in Bagh district and at the Tarar Khal Axis.

An FC soldier, Rahim Gul, was martyred in the attack, while a Pakistan Rangers personnel was injured, according to the AJK Police spokesperson.

Security personnel responded to the attack with courage and professionalism. During the exchange of fire, one attacker was killed at the scene.

According to police, two hand grenades, one Kalashnikov, three magazines with ammunition and a dagger were recovered from the killed attacker.

Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and launched a search for the attackers who escaped.

The AJK Police spokesperson said strict legal action would be taken against violent elements without discrimination. No leniency would be shown to those who attack security forces or civilians.

The police also said strict action would be taken against violent elements to maintain the rule of law and restore peace and public order in the region.
