Pakistan’s Economic Reforms Begin Showing Positive Results

Pakistan’s economic reforms are beginning to show positive results, with improvements in investment, employment prospects and public confidence.

The recovery in economic confidence, rising consumer satisfaction and improving economic indicators are creating new hopes for growth.

According to the Ipsos Consumer Confidence Index survey, overall consumer confidence in Pakistan increased by 0.4 points to 33.6.

The survey showed that 24 percent of people now believe Pakistan is moving in the right direction, compared with 11 percent in August 2024.

The share of people expecting economic conditions to improve has also increased from 12 percent two years ago to around 23 percent.

Satisfaction with making regular purchases of household essentials rose by 3 percentage points to 10 percent.

Consumer confidence in making major purchases, such as a house or car, also increased by 2 percentage points to 7 percent.

Confidence in investment in Pakistan stands at 15 percent and has remained broadly stable over the past year.

The Global Consumer Confidence Index also showed improvement in Pakistan’s economic conditions, employment and investment outlook.

These trends suggest that economic reforms and stability measures are gradually helping restore confidence in Pakistan’s economy.
