PM Shehbaz, Italian Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD: Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Ugo Ciarlatani paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Tuesday, with discussions focusing on further strengthening Pakistan-Italy relations.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr Syed Tauqir Shah, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch were also present.
Welcoming the newly arrived Italian Ambassador, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan and Italy enjoyed excellent bilateral relations. He conveyed his warm greetings to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and fondly recalled his interactions with her.
The Prime Minister also expressed pleasure at Prime Minister Meloni’s completion of four uninterrupted years in office, making her Italy’s longest-serving leader.
Ambassador Ciarlatani thanked the Prime Minister for receiving him and expressed his commitment to further promoting and strengthening Pakistan-Italy relations during his tenure. He said he looked forward to working closely with the Pakistani government across all areas of mutual interest.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured the Italian Ambassador of Pakistan’s full cooperation in building stronger ties between the two countries, particularly in agriculture, information technology and artificial intelligence, industry, textiles and people-to-people contacts.
