Six Brave Soldiers Martyred in Hangu Laid to Rest with Military Honours

PESHAWAR: Funeral prayers for six Pakistan Army personnel who embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with Khawarij terrorists in Hangu were offered in Peshawar.

The funeral prayers were attended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Corps Commander Peshawar, the families of the martyrs, and senior civil and military officials.

The six martyrs were identified as Captain Abu Zar Farooq Shaheed, Lieutenant Shiraz Babar Shaheed, Sepoy Shakeel Ahmed Shaheed, Sepoy Hamza Shaheed, Sepoy Muhammad Usman Aziz Shaheed and non-combatant Ghulam Sajjad Shaheed.

The bodies of the martyrs were subsequently transported to their native areas, where they will be laid to rest with full military honours.

The supreme sacrifices of the Pakistan Army personnel in defence of the country further strengthen the resolve of the security forces to eliminate terrorist threats and protect Pakistan’s peace and security.

The nation pays tribute to the martyrs and stands in solidarity with their families, honouring their courage, sacrifice and devotion to the defence of the homeland.
