Pakistan, Benin Sign MoU to Institutionalise Bilateral Political Consultations

NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Benin’s Foreign Minister Corinne Amori Brunet on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Establishment of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) between Pakistan and Benin.

The agreement will institutionalise a framework for regular dialogue and consultations between the two countries, providing a platform to discuss bilateral, regional and international matters of mutual interest.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Benin bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on expanding economic and trade cooperation.

The two ministers also exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and discussed avenues for enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
