Pakistan, Algeria Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

The two foreign ministers held wide-ranging discussions on bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen cooperation in trade and investment, economic cooperation, education, culture and people-to-people contacts.

The ministers also emphasised the importance of sustained high-level engagement to further strengthen ties between Pakistan and Algeria.

The two sides exchanged views on regional and global developments. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing contemporary challenges.

Both ministers expressed satisfaction with the excellent cooperation between Pakistan and Algeria at various multilateral forums, particularly the United Nations, and agreed to further strengthen coordination.

The two sides also agreed to maintain close contact and sustain the momentum in bilateral relations.
