Asim Azhar Marks 10 Years of Coke Studio With Maheya

Ten years after making his Coke Studio debut with the beloved track Tera Woh Pyar, Asim Azhar has returned to the platform with Maheya, a new song that is quickly winning over listeners.

The latest Coke Studio Nu.WAV release features Azhar alongside Aaryan, with Rovalio handling the production. The song was written by Azhar, Aaryan and Kumail Abbas, while the music was composed by Azhar, Azhar Hussain and Rovalio.

Celebrating the release on Instagram, Azhar shared a lyric from the song, writing, “maheya tere pyar vich, jindri mai haareya.”

Reflecting on his journey, he added, “Exactly 10 years ago, it was ‘Tera Woh Pyar’, today it’s ‘Maheya’. Thank you for always being here. I hope you all love it as much as we loved making it.”

The release carries a special sense of nostalgia for Azhar’s longtime fans. He first appeared on Coke Studio in 2015 with Hina Ki Khushbu before returning with Tera Woh Pyar, his memorable collaboration with Momina Mustehsan.

A decade later, Azhar has returned through Nu.WAV, Coke Studio’s newer platform that gives artists and producers space to explore fresh sounds and creative styles.

Maheya explores themes of love, longing and heartbreak, with its central refrain reflecting the feeling of being completely consumed by love. Azhar’s signature vocals blend with Aaryan’s performance, while Rovalio’s production adds a modern touch to the track.

The music video captures a vintage mood that pays tribute to the golden age of cinema. Set as a 1950s setting through black-and-white visuals, and shows Azhar as a playback singer. His elegant styling further complements the retro-inspired setting.

Fans and music lovers reacting warmly to the release, with many praising the song and adding it to their repeat playlists.

One fan joked about Azhar’s ability to turn every release into a social media moment, writing, “Bro wakes up, drops a banger, makes a transition video to it, and goes back to sleep.”

Azhar responded with a simple, “Guilty as charged.”
