PTI Trying to March on Islamabad; Political Instability Will Not Be Tolerated: Rana Sanaullah

07 October, 2026 15:43

Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of promoting political instability, intolerance and a culture of abusive language.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Rana Sanaullah said that after 2024, PTI was again trying to march towards and attack Islamabad in 2026. He alleged that all resources of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government were being used for this purpose.

He said the government had tried to convince PTI to abandon its policy of political instability, give priority to national interests instead of personal political agendas and come to the negotiating table. However, he said the government could not accept any strategy aimed at holding the state hostage to achieve political demands.

Rana Sanaullah alleged that since becoming a major political force, PTI’s agenda had been to create political instability, reduce political tolerance and promote hatred, intolerance and abusive language. He said political differences after 2014 increasingly turned into personal insults and abusive exchanges.

He said that on one side, the bodies of police officers, customs officials, law enforcement personnel, members of the armed forces and civilians killed in terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were lying, while on the other side, the provincial government was encouraging people to gather and march first to other areas and then towards Islamabad.

The prime minister’s adviser said many of those killed were residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and their orphaned children and families should also be considered. He said preparing to march on Islamabad while families were mourning the deaths of their loved ones could not be tolerated.

Rana Sanaullah claimed that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had strongly rejected this approach. He said using state institutions to create political instability and disrupt government affairs to achieve political demands was unacceptable.
