Saudi-Led Coalition Says Houthi Militia Attacks on Key Sites Foiled

Saudi-led military coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki has said that the coalition’s defence systems thwarted attempts by the Houthi militia to target key Saudi facilities, including airports, oil installations and ports.
Speaking at a news conference in Riyadh, Al-Maliki described the reported attacks as violations of international principles and said defensive systems had destroyed multiple missiles and rocket launchers.
He also reported that more than 120 weapons storage sites belonging to the Houthi militia had been destroyed in mountainous areas of Yemen. The supplied statement did not provide independent verification of the reported number of sites or details of the damage caused.
Al-Maliki further said that missiles had been fired from areas of Sanaa, Yemen’s capital. Evacuations were reportedly under way in affected locations.
The spokesperson emphasised unity in defending Saudi Arabia and the holy sites. His remarks reflect the coalition’s position on the security situation and the reported threats to critical infrastructure.
Airports, energy facilities and ports are strategically important to Saudi Arabia and the wider region. Attacks on such sites can threaten civilian safety, disrupt economic activity and increase the risk of a broader regional escalation.
The latest statements underline continuing tensions involving the Houthi militia and the Saudi-led coalition. Independent confirmation of the reported interceptions, destroyed storage sites and evacuation measures was not included in the supplied material.
