Saudi Arabia’s military coalition has condemned attacks attributed to the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, reporting 17 deaths and 333 injuries in incidents at the airport between October 1 and 11.

Speaking at a press conference in Riyadh, Saudi-led coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki described the reported attacks on October 10 as a serious threat to the safety of passengers and visitors, as well as a violation of international law.

Al-Maliki reported that 20 attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport were thwarted between October 1 and 11. He also provided details of casualties from several incidents during the period.

According to the spokesperson, an attack on October 7 killed one person and injured eight, while another incident on October 8 left three people dead and five injured. The October 10 attack reportedly killed 12 people and injured 309. On October 11, an incident targeting Terminal 3 killed one person and injured another.

The coalition spokesperson also reported an attack on Abha Airport on October 7 that killed two women from Morocco and Algeria and injured 28 other people.

Al-Maliki said the Houthi militia had also targeted King Abdullah International Airport in Jazan, Abha International Airport and King Fahd Airport. The supplied statement did not provide further details about casualties or damage at those locations.

The spokesperson further reported that coalition forces had destroyed 127 weapons storage facilities in mountainous areas around Sanaa, Saada and Amran, which he said had been established by the Houthi militia.

Attacks on airports can endanger civilian passengers, airport employees and aviation operations. The reported incidents highlight concerns over civilian safety and regional security amid continuing tensions involving Yemen.

The casualty figures and military claims in this report are attributed to the coalition spokesperson and were not independently verified from the supplied material.
