Rakhi Sawant Faces Legal Trouble Over Reality Show Rakhi Ka Insaaf

Indian celebrity Rakhi Sawant has face a non-bailable arrest warrant against her in connection with a 2010 suicide case linked to her reality show Rakhi Ka Insaaf.

As per Indian media reports, the warrant was issued by a fast-track court in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, following Rakhi’s repeated absence from court despite being asked to appear.

District Government Counsel for Crimes Mridul Kant Srivastava told the Press Trust of India (PTI) that the court issued the warrant because the actress had repeatedly missed court hearings.

The case dates back to November 2010, when Lakshman Ahirwar, a resident of Jhansi, appeared on Rakhi Ka Insaaf with his wife to discuss their marital problems.

Reports say Rakhi allegedly made humiliating remarks about Ahirwar during the programme. After the incident, his mother, Savitri, filed a police complaint, claiming that the comments caused him serious mental distress.

According to his family, Ahirwar later died by suicide. His relatives blamed the public humiliation on the show for his death, leading to the legal case.

Rakhi Ka Insaaf concentrated on people involvement their special and family problems on TV. However, some spectators criticized the show for its style to these matters and the language reportedly used in some episodes.

The court has scheduled the next hearing for December 1. The latest order has brought fresh attention to the case, which has continued for years.

The case against Rakhi Sawant is still pending, and still awaiting a final decision from the court. Rakhi Sawant has not been found guilty simply because an arrest warrant was issued. The case will continue in court.
