Trump Says Iran War Outcome Will Emerge Soon as US and Israel Reportedly Prepare for Fresh Strikes

US President Donald Trump has said a decision on whether to continue negotiations with Iran will be made soon, as reports suggest Washington and Israel are preparing for a possible new round of military strikes after the US midterm elections.
In an interview with NewsNation, Trump said contacts with Iran were taking place on a limited basis. He indicated that the coming days would be important in determining whether diplomatic engagement would continue or be brought to an end.
Trump said some people expected developments on Iran to emerge after the midterm elections, but maintained that the situation would become clearer soon. He also described the US military campaign against Iran as successful, asserting that Washington held advantages in both military and financial terms.
Meanwhile, The New York Times has reported that the United States and Israel are preparing for the possibility of renewed attacks on Iran. According to the report, planning is underway for a short but intense military operation after the US midterm elections.
Potential targets could include Iranian energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and stockpiles of missiles and drones. US military assets across the Middle East are expected to be ready by early November, the report said.
US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has also discussed possible new strikes during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The United States and Israel are reportedly conducting military exercises in Iraqi airspace as part of preparations for potential operations.
US officials have warned that further attacks could inflict additional damage on Iran’s economy. However, doubts remain over whether a new military campaign would achieve its intended objectives.
Previous attacks on Iran contributed to volatility in global energy markets and increased inflationary pressures, highlighting the potential economic consequences of renewed hostilities.
Trump has not given final approval for the proposed strikes, according to US officials cited in the report. Although military action remains a possibility, a final decision has yet to be made.
