Trump Again Seen with Eyes Closed During White House Meeting

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump was seen with his eyes closed during a White House meeting, bringing renewed attention to his alertness during official events.

According to The New Republic, Trump appeared with his eyes closed several times during a meeting on cybercrime and financial fraud prevention on October 21.

During the meeting, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth was discussing the risks of cyberattacks when Trump was seen with his eyes closed. A similar scene occurred while Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin was speaking about videos related to child sexual abuse.

FBI Director Kash Patel, White House adviser Stephen Miller and Attorney General Todd Blanche were also present at the meeting.

According to The New Republic, this was the second time in the same week that Trump had been seen with his eyes closed during an official event.

Meeting Focuses on Cybercrime and Financial Fraud

According to Reuters, the October 21 meeting focused on the Trump administration’s efforts to combat international cyber fraud.

Trump said government actions had potentially prevented $1.6 billion in financial losses this year.

The FBI said law enforcement agencies had taken action against 20 fraud-related centres worldwide and warned more than 10,000 Americans about possible scams.

Reuters reported that the United States received more than one million complaints related to internet fraud in 2025, an increase of 17 per cent from the previous year.

Trump’s Age and Health Draw Attention Again

The latest footage emerged after Trump claimed that he believed his mind was sharper than it had been 20 years ago. He has also previously claimed to have achieved perfect scores on certain cognitive tests.
