Shibli Faraz named information minister while retired Lt-Gen Bajwa made SAPM Information and Broadcasting.

Federal Minister and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry broke the news in his tweet.

In his tweet he posted: “Truly an honorable and dignified man @shiblifaraz  has been appointed new Information minister of Pak.”

He dded: ….”and a brilliant @AsimSBajwa  appointed SAPM on info both ll make a great team…. all the best.”

Meanwhile, Joint Secretary Cabinet Taimur Tajammal has issued a notification regarding appointment of Lt.Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd).

According to the notification, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has been removed from the office of SAPM on Information and Broadcasting.

Lieutenant General Retired Asim Saleem Bajwa now replaced her as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting.

However, political circles remain surprised over this development.

Specially, now Prime Minister Imran-led cabinet has a full fledged information minister.

And more surprisingly, now PM Khan has a special assistant besides a minister.

Earlier, Firdous Ashiq Awan remained sole official for information and broadcasting although he served as special assistant.
