FM Shah Mahmood briefs Japanese counterpart on PM Global Initiative on Debt Relief.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says developing world may have dire social, political and economic consequences if immediate, coordinated and comprehensive actions are not taken to create fiscal space.

He was talking to his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi over telephone.

They discussed Covid-19 pandemic situation and its aftermath.

Shah Mahmood highlighted that the developing countries have to fight on two fronts such as containing the virus, and staving off starvation.

He briefed Foreign Minister Motegi about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s “Global Initiative on Debt Relief” for developing countries.

Meanwhile, the FM Qureshi also spoke in the Senate. He said Pakistan has reiterated its full support to people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir struggling for their right to self-determination for several decades.

Foreign Minister said the whole nation is united on the Kashmir issue and Pakistan will continue to highlight unabated human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir at every world forum.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Kashmiris are facing siege for the last nine months and they are being denied of their basic rights.

The Minister said Indian forces have started massacre of innocent Kashmiri people in guise of coronavirus and their bodies are also not being handed over to their heirs.

He criticized the mentality of Modi-led government for pursuing the Hindutva ideology and for blaming the Muslims for the spread of coronavirus.

The minister said Indian government wants to impose Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh agenda in Kashmir.

He urged the international community to force India to lift the worst form of curfew in Occupied Kashmir and allow the delivery of medicines and food to the Kashmiris.
