Coronavirus kills 38 more people in Pakistan raising death toll to 834.

 

A total of 10,880 patients have so far recovered from the coronavirus.

Coronavirus kills 38 more people

The death toll now stands at 834 with 31 new deaths reported during the last 24 hours.

The nationwide tally of coronavirus cases has soared to 38,799 with 1,581 new cases reported during the last 24 hours.

Overall 14,201 cases have so far been detected in Punjab, 14,916 in Sindh, 5,678 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,457 in Balochistan, 518 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 921 in Islamabad and 108 in Azad Kashmir.

Meanwhile, National Command and Operation Centre meeting held in Islamabad today.

Planning Minister Asad Umar chaired.

During the meeting, officials said Pakistan has conducted over 14,878 tests in the past 24 hours.

They underlined it the highest number of assessments made to diagnose COVID-19 patients.

Asad Umar expressed satisfaction over enhancement of testing capacity that has witnessed 30 times increase with a rise from 2 labs in mid-March to 70 labs till date.

The Minister said people of Pakistan can’t be left at the mercy of pandemic.

Furthermore, he vowed we will move every single resource available to mitigate the challenges of common people.
