Coronavirus confirmed cases rise to over 98900

Coronavirus confirmed cases rise to over 98900 with reports of 4960 new Coronavirus cases during last 24 hours.
So far, 37090 reported in Punjab, 36364 in Sindh and 13001 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As many as 6221 cases reported in Balochistan, 4979 in Islamabad, 927 in Gilgit Baltistan and 361 in Azad Kashmir.
Coronavirus confirmed cases rise
As per official figures, 4960 new Coronavirus cases have surfaced in the country during the last twenty four hours.
This increased the total tally to 98,943.
The death toll from the virus stands at 2002 with 67 deaths reported over the last twenty four hours.
23,100 corona tests were also carried out during this period.
Meanwhile, 33645 patients have so far recovered from the disease.
Earlier, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Dr Zafar Mirza said 75pc beds in hospitals available for Covid19 patients.
While addressing a media briefing in Islamabad, Zafar Mirza said that only 25 percent beds with ventilators remain under use at hospitals to support corona patients.
Hence, 75 percent beds at intensive care units at hospitals remain unoccupied and thus available for COVID-19 patients.
Furthermore, he said no any shortage of bed, ventilator or any other facility for Covid-19 patients.
The Special Assistant said that lockdown policy is being implemented in 700 areas of the country.
It aims at avoiding spread of the disease while only such places are sealed where there are threats of massive local transmission.
