Federal Minister for Commerce and Production Muhammad Hammad Azhar and PM’s Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday.

The meeting in Islamabad focused on matters related to commerce and finance.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also held a separate meeting with his Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, the PM Office said.

Commerce Advisor Abdul Razak Dawood called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today (Monday).

They discussed different matters during the meeting.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed his government team to reduce non development spending.

He called for it while, chairing a high level meeting in Islamabad on Sunday.

The team PTI govt discussed the proposed budget of the Federal government, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the financial year 2020-21.

PM Khan directed to reduce non-development spending and increase development expenditure in the upcoming budget.

Keeping in view the ground realities regarding revenue and expenditure, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar’s economic team briefed the meeting about their budget plans.

Moreover, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan’s team also shared their respective province’s priorities for the upcoming budget.

Prime Minister Imran Khan cited the budget for next financial year is coming during exceptional circumstances due to Corona pandemic.

In view of these circumstances, he directed to set priorities especially for those projects and to put into practice those priorities which would create employment opportunities.

He also urged them to focus on accelerating the wheel of the economy.
