The specially chartered Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight left Chicago for Islamabad.

It carried Pakistani citizens stranded due to the coronavirus outbreak.

According to the Pakistan embassy in Washington, the pandemic resulted in the suspension of commercial flight operations around the world.

It remained the sixth charter flight which the the Government of Pakistan arranged in collaboration with PIA.

Pakistan government arranged it for the repatriation of a total of around 1,500 Pakistanis stranded in the United States.

Consul General in Chicago Javed Ahmed Umrani, saw off the passengers.

However, the embassy did not give their number, from the city’s O’hare airport.
