NDMA makes contingency plan to deal with the flooding in the upcoming monsoon season.
Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal said, while addressing a pre-monsoon conference in Islamabad on Friday.

He announced preparing a contingency plan to deal with the flooding in the upcoming monsoon season.
He further said the NDMA would share plan with all the stakeholders in order to take on the impending monsoon in the most professional and prudent manner.
The Chairman NDMA said all the major cities are vulnerable to flooding in the monsoon season.
He said the authorities in Karachi should clean all the drains whilst those in Lahore, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Rawalpindi and Nowshera should also remain prepared to respond to the flooding.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the nation to stay united and steadfast in fighting the unusual and ominous challenge of Coronavirus.
He said this during visit to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) for COVID-19 in Islamabad.
The PM further said we need a unified and well-coordinated joint national response. Specially, he called for it to fight the disease during the next couple of months.
He urged people to strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to contain the spread of the virus.
