PM and Maldive President discuss Coronavirus related measures during telephonic conversation.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the government’s smart lockdown strategy in the face of COVID-19 pandemic has worked successfully.

In a telephonic conversation with Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, he said Pakistan is gradually opening up major sectors of economy.
The two leaders exchanged views in detail on the challenges posed by COVID-19.
Prime Minister Imran Khan briefed the Maldivian President about the latest situation in Pakistan and the steps taken by his government to contain COVID-19, with focus on saving lives, securing livelihoods, and stimulating the economy.
He also apprised him about his “Global Initiative on Debt Relief” for developing countries to mitigate the severe socio-economic impacts of the pandemic.
The Prime Minister underscored that developing countries are particularly vulnerable due to limited fiscal space and health sector infrastructure constraints, therefore they require special measures.
Meanwhile, 15 people died of Coronavirus during last twenty four hours across Pakistan.
However, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients in the country has reached 260,764 making it a significant count.

According to the latest statistics, there are now 17,799 active cases in Pakistan.
539 new cases were reported over the last twenty-four hours and 15 deaths were reported during this period.
Meanwhile, government claims its policy of smart lockdown against coronavirus pandemic has remained successful.
Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said this, while talking to a private news channel.
He further said the government adopted the strategy of Prime Minister Imran Khan from day one.
