OIC Contact Group asks UN High Commissioner HR for IOJK monitoring.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has urged UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to continue monitoring.

It also called for reporting on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, based on grave human rights situation there.

Ambassadors of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir in Geneva, comprising Azerbaijan, Niger, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan and OIC Geneva Mission met virtually the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.

They communicated concerns on human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The group also briefed her on Ministerial meetings of Contact Group and resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir adopted at OIC Summits and Foreign Ministers’ level meetings.

In Islamabad, Azad Kashmir APHC held a protest demo at UN office on Tuesday.

The APHC-AJK chapter organized a protest demonstration outside the UN office in Islamabad.

Protesters condemned the Indian atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir

They also condemned New Delhi’s misleading statements about deletion of the Kashmir dispute from the agenda of the UN Security Council.

On the occasion, the participants of the demonstration submitted a memorandum to the UN office.

They demanded of the World Body’s Chief Antonio Guterres to take notice of the brutalities which Indian troops are perpetrating under the garb of coronavirus lockdown in the occupied territory.

Meanwhile, the APHC-AJK also expressed concern over the problems which journalists are facing in the occupied territory.

They said that Kashmiri journalists are put in jails for sharing their work and opinion on social media.

On the other hand, the Korea Times article highlighted Indian state terrorism in IOJK (occupied Jammu and Kashmir).
