His valour and valiance won him Nishan-e-Haider posthumously.

Meanwhile, Director General ISPR, Major General Babar Iftikhar remembered the great martyr.

In a tweet, he said the nation venerates supreme sacrifice of Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed.

The DG ISPR further underlined the courage and extremely daring actions of Mehfooz Shaheed in battlefield.

Furthermore, he underlined it a sublime precedent which all defenders of motherland need to emulate.

While trying to repulse enemy attack, Mehfooz embraced martyrdom at Wagah Border in 1971 war.

According to Radio Pakistan, anniversary is being held today (Friday).

Pakistan had to fight a which India imposed first through proxies and then directnly.

Notably, India did so in violation of international law and invaded East Pakistan.

She took advantage of geographical location former East Pakistan situated between present day Pakistan and India.

Unfortunately, the international community failed to shoulder their responsibility during 1971 War.

However, loyal sons of Pakistan valiantly fought and also repulsed Indian aggression on many fronts.

Meanwhile, analysts believe that big powers of the Western bloc tilted to India.

Because of these facts, Pakistani nation don’t trust big powers, while staying alert regarding Indian threats.
