A new era of cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan through PTA is what the adviser on Commerce Razak Dawood hopes.

Addressing a business forum in Tashkent on Thursday, he said that Pakistan and Uzbekistan will sign a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) to bolster their trade and economic relations.

He further said that a new era of cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan will start through Preferential Trade Agreement, banking system and improvement in customs.

He said Pakistani businessmen have come up with a plan for investment in Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, Secretary Board of Investment, Fareena Mazhar said the negotiations relating to PTA will be completed in two months

She further said there is already consensus between the two sides on important matters.

Meanwhile, Adviser on Commerce Razaq Dawood expressed confidence of enhanced business activities between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
He made the remarks following Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Council and Joint Ministerial meetings in Tashkent.
The Adviser also hoped signing of joint ventures and distribution agreements on the sidelines of investment conference today.
On the occasion, Pakistan’s entrepreneurs appreciated the government for bringing a big business delegation to Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, they hailed their interaction with Uzbek counterparts as encouraging.
They said a new market is opening for Pakistan. They noted a great scope of Pakistani products including that of agriculture, textiles, pharmaceutical and sports and surgical goods in Uzbekistan.
