Afridi concerned over Pakistan batters’ strike rate

ICC T20I World Cup ambassador and former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has expressed concern over the strike rate of Pakistani batters.

Talking about the coming World Cup, former captain Shahid Afridi said that he thinks Pakistan should play the final as the conditions of West Indies and America are in Green Shirt’s favour. Pakistan’s spinners are out of form, but I am hopeful that their form will return, he added.

The ICC ambassador further said that there is strength in Pakistan’s batting, but the annoying thing is the strike rate. From 7 to 14 overs the strike rate should be better. Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir are very experienced players as both of them have played in the West Indies league. Their experience will be an advantage for Pakistan. I pray that Saim Ayub performs well as he has got enough opportunity but if he does not perform then Fakhar should be given a chance on top order.

Afridi said that Pakistan’s fast bowling attack is the best of all teams but the senior bowlers have more responsibility.
