Rare Peacock-Tailed Fish Appears in Dwarka, Sparks Interest in Science and Faith – Watch Video

A rare needlefish with a beautiful, peacock-like tail was recently seen at Gomti Ghat in Dwarka. The unusual fish quickly caught the attention of local people, pilgrims, and marine experts. Videos of the fish spread fast on social media.

People who saw the fish said it was long and thin, just like a normal needlefish. It had a narrow body and sharp, beak-like jaws. However, what made it special was its colorful tail. The bright and patterned fin looked like the feathers of a peacock, which is India’s national bird. Such a sight is very rare in the local waters.

The fish was spotted near the area where the Gomti River meets the Arabian Sea. This place is close to the famous Dwarkadhish Temple, an important religious site for Hindus. Many people visiting the temple believed the fish was a divine sign.

Marine experts have given a scientific explanation for the sighting. They say needlefish usually live in open seas and sometimes in areas where river water mixes with sea water. Changes in water temperature, salt levels, and ocean currents can cause them to move to new places. Climate change and warming waters may also be reasons why some sea animals are seen outside their usual habitats.

The area around Gomti Ghat is special because fresh river water mixes with salty sea water there. This creates a unique environment that can sometimes attract rare marine life. Although needlefish are found along the Gujarat coast, one with such a colorful and unusual tail is considered extremely rare.

Dwarka is known in Hindu belief as the ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna. The peacock feather is strongly linked to Lord Krishna’s image. Because of this, many devotees felt the fish had spiritual meaning.

Officials have asked people not to disturb the fish. Experts say rare sea creatures should be admired from a distance to protect the marine environment. This sighting shows both the rich marine life of Gujarat’s coast and the deep cultural beliefs of the local people.
