Consensus reached after opposition agreed

PML unconditional support

PMLN extends unconditional support to the government on Army Act, said Rana Sanaullah while talking to the media.

However, he ruled out possibility of deal with the government on Army Act.

He asserted that it remains an unconditional support. How it can be misconstrued as a result of deal, he asked.

Rana Sanaullah  further said that PMLN don’t want to make controversial office of the army chief.

PPP called for democratic process

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed the need to follow democratic process while making amendments to the Army Act.

He emphasised this while talking to Defence Minister-led ruling PTI delegation who called on him to seek support for the draft bill for amendments in Army Act.

The governmet is seeking consensus after three-year extension to Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa) engendered legal debate.

The PPP chairman said that  they wanted to positively engage with the democratic legislative process.
