Aus vs Pak 1st Test day 4 : Pak suffered 360 runs defeat bowled for 89 in chase of 450

Australia declared on day four at 233-5, Pakistan team chasing a target of 450 runs, crumbled for a mere 89 runs resulting 360 runs defeat in last session of day four of in the opening Test at Perth.

Australia scored giant 487 runs in its first inning, in reply Pakistanis were dismissed for 271 in their first innings.

On day four, Australia resumed its second inning from 89 – 2 with Khawaja on (34) and Smith (43). Steve Smith could only add (2) runs when debutant Khurram Shahzad got him lbw on (45) runs. Travis Head, scored (14) bowled by Aamer Jamal caught by Haq at cover.

Usman Khawaja – Mitchell Marsh formed a 126-run partnership then Khawaja was out on (90). Mitchell Marsh remained unbeaten on (63)* then Australia declared on day four at 233-5, setting a target of whopping 450 runs for wining the match.

Pakistani side when chasing a daunting target of 450 runs, got disastrous start when Abdullah Shafique dismissed for (2) in the opening over, edging an unplayable delivery from Starc to wicketkeeper Alex Carey.

Captain Shan Masood, didn’t endure much longer, edging to Carey off Hazlewood for (2), leaving his team in dire straits at 17-2.

Starc also accounted for Imam-ul-Haq, trapping him lbw for, before Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel showed some resistance.

Azam edged to Cummins on (14), with Carey claiming the catch, Shakeel was lbw (24) to Hazlewood.After tea, Sarfaraz Ahmed (4)lasted only six balls before being caught by Marsh at gully off Starc, and Agha Salman (5)was unnecessarily run out.

Nathan Lyon got Faheem Ashraf lbw for (5) (his 500th Test wicket) and Aamer Jamal bowled out (0) before Hazlewood wrapped up the tail Khurram Shahzad (0).

Both sides to meet in second test (Boxing Day) match scheduled in Melbourne from December 26 – 30 at 4:30 am PST.
