Aus vs Pak 2nd Test day 3 : Aussies thank Abdullah Shafique after lead by 241 runs

Pakistan team on day three of the second test, were dismissed for 264 in their first innings in reply to Australia’s 318.

Team Pakistan resumed 194/6 and only added 70 runs in first inning, allowing Australia for taking the lead of 54 runs in Melbourne. Pat Cummins led his bowlers with 5-48, while Nathan Lyon grabbed 4-73.

Muhammad Rizwan departed for (42) only added 13 runs from his yesterday’s total , Shaheen (21) and Hasan Ali (2) Mir Hamza (2). Aamer Jamal scored (33) on 80 balls helped Pakistan to reduce Aussie lead.

Australia 2nd inning

Australia was shaking when it lost two early wickets, Usman Khawaja for (0) and Marnus Labuschagne (4). Shaheen Afridi got both wickets, forcing Australia 6/2 at lunch.

Mir Hamza clean bowled David Warner for (6) and Travis Head for (0) leaving Australia 16/4.

Abdullah Shafique dropped Mitchell Marsh in the slips when Marsh was on 20 from Aamer Jamal, later Marsh scored (96) runs bowled by Mir Hamza caught by Salman Agha in the slips.

Marsh and Smith’s 153-run partnership brought Australia back in the game,Steve Smith also had a close catch missed from Abdullah Shafique , Smith scored (50) taking Australia to massive lead of 241 runs while four wickets in hand has diminished any chance for Pakistan for winning the test match.
