Sindh govt sets deadline for digital vehicle certification

29 April, 2026 16:52

Sindh government has announced a major step to modernize the transport system by fully digitalising all vehicle route permits and fitness certificates across the province.

The deadline for this change has been set for 30 June 2026.

New Digital System Introduced

Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that all vehicle owners and transporters must complete their digital registration before the deadline.

Under the new system, every vehicle owner will receive online verifiable digital documents. These will replace the current manual papers used in the transport sector.

End of Manual Paperwork

The aim of this digital system is to reduce fraud, stop document tampering, and make the process easier for citizens. People will no longer need to visit government offices again and again for paperwork.

Field offices have been instructed to complete at least 1,000 entries daily to meet the target on time.

Strict Action After Deadline

After 30 June 2026, all manual route permits and fitness certificates will become invalid. Only digital documents will be accepted by transport authorities.

Vehicles found without valid digital records after the deadline will face strict legal action.

Transporters Urged to Act Early

Authorities have urged transporters and vehicle owners to start the process immediately so they can complete registration well before the deadline.
