Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation president calls on Pakistan Army Chief in in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

President BMGF and chair of Global Development Programme Mr Christopher Elias lauded Pakistan Army for supporting national polio drive.

Particularly, he appreciated involvement of community leaders and influencers.

During his meeting with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, matters related to Pakistan’s commitment for comprehensive Polio eradication came under discussion.

The Army Chief acknowledged the services which Polio Health Workers rendered for polio eradication in Pakistan.

Furthermore, he said that it the national cause and a national effort.

Meanwhile, Christopher Elias also appreciated Pakistan’s successful COVID-19 pandemic campaign.

He also praised Pakistan Army’s tremendous contribution to bring it within manageable level.

Moreover, General Bajwa appreciated untiring efforts of the foundation towards the noble cause of Polio eradication at global level.

He assured him of Pakistan Army’s continued support.

On Wednesday, Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong called on Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, progress on CPEC and regional security situation came under discussion.

Both sides also discussed the latest developments in Afghan Peace Process.

Meanwhile, General Bajwa thanked the dignitary for China’s contribution towards fight against COVID-19 and provision of vaccines to Pakistan.

Furthermore, he said that Pakistan greatly values its friendly relations with its “iron brother” China.

He also felicitated the dignitary for holding grand ceremony in Beijing on the occasion of 70th Anniversary of Pak-China diplomatic relations.

Moreover, the visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s sincere efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, especially the Afghan Peace Process.

Meanwhile, Members Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry also called on the Army Chief.
