Who is Zoya Khan? Delhi’s ‘Lady Don’ arrested with heroin worth crores

In a major breakthrough, Indian police have finally apprehended Zoya Khan, the wife of infamous gangster Hashim Baba, after years of evading capture.

The 33-year-old was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell on Friday in the Welcome area of North East Delhi. Authorities also recovered 270 grams of heroin from her possession, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore in the international market.

Zoya Khan, often referred to as the ‘Lady Don’ of Delhi, played a key role in managing her husband’s criminal empire while Hashim Baba was behind bars. Though Zoya had long been on the radar of law enforcement, she had successfully avoided direct links to illegal activities until now.

Zoya Khan, who is the third wife of Hashim Baba, has an extensive criminal background. Before marrying Baba in 2017, she was previously married and divorced. Her involvement in crime goes beyond her marriage, with her mother arrested in 2024 for allegedly running a sex trafficking ring. Her father is suspected of having connections to drug distribution networks.

Upon her husband’s incarceration, Zoya took over the gang’s operations, managing extortion and drug trafficking operations across the region. Much like Haseena Parkar, the sister of notorious don Dawood Ibrahim, Zoya assumed control of the criminal empire in Baba’s absence.

Zoya’s high-profile image included frequent appearances at elite parties, where she flaunted expensive designer clothes.

However, despite her attempts to stay under the radar, a tip-off led the Delhi Police Special Cell to her location, where she was arrested with a significant amount of heroin. The drug was reportedly sourced from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, and was intended for distribution in Delhi.

Zoya’s operations were largely based in Usmanpur, an area known for its criminal activity and home to notorious gangs. Zoya’s husband, Hashim Baba, is linked to several violent turf wars and extortion operations, including the Nadir Shah murder case, where his ties to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi came to light.

Police sources claim that Baba and Bishnoi coordinated criminal activities from behind bars, using illegal mobile networks to maintain communication. Zoya’s arrest marks a significant step in the ongoing crackdown on organized crime in Delhi.
