Who is Ben Folds? All you need to know about him!

American singer-songwriter and pianist Ben Folds has delighted fans with the announcement of his 2025 tour, featuring solo performances, orchestra collaborations, and his popular Paper Airplane Request Tour. The tour will kick off on March 18-19 in Kansas City, Missouri, and continue across various U.S. cities until December 2, 2025.
Folds, born on September 12, 1966, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, gained fame as the frontman of Ben Folds Five, known for their piano-driven rock sound. Some of his most beloved songs include The Luckiest, Army, and Brick. Over the years, he has collaborated with notable artists such as Weird Al Yankovic and Regina Spektor.
His solo career took off with the release of Rockin’ the Suburbs in 2001, followed by several successful albums, including Songs for Silverman and Way to Normal. Folds has also composed music for films, performed with orchestras, and produced albums for artists like William Shatner.
Known for his engaging live performances, Folds often incorporates audience participation, including his signature Paper Airplane Request Tour, where fans toss song requests on paper airplanes. He has also served as a judge on NBC’s The Sing-Off.
After a 12-year break from studio albums, Folds made a comeback in 2023 with What Matters Most, proving his enduring influence in the music industry.
