Born Lara Lea Yunaska on October 12, 1982, in Wilmington, North Carolina, Lara grew up in Wrightsville Beach. She met Eric Trump in 2008 through mutual friends, initially unaware of his famous last name.

The couple got engaged in 2013 and tied the knot on November 8, 2014, at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Despite suffering broken wrists from a horseback riding accident weeks before her wedding, Lara adapted her bridal look to include stylish, embellished gloves.

Career Journey

Lara studied communications at North Carolina State University before pursuing a career in journalism. She worked as a producer for Inside Edition but left her role to support Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Over the years, she became a key political adviser and media personality, hosting the “Real News” Facebook series and later joining Fox News as a contributor in 2021.

In 2024, Donald Trump endorsed Lara for the position of co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), a role she officially assumed in March of that year. However, she resigned from the position in December.

Now, Lara is set to host My View with Lara Trump, airing Saturdays on Fox News. This makes her the first immediate family member of a sitting president to host a television show.

Family and Personal Life

Eric and Lara Trump have two children: son Eric “Luke” Trump Jr., born in 2017, and daughter Carolina Dorothy Trump, born in 2019. The family resides in Westchester, New York, near Trump National Golf Club.

Although she once considered running for a North Carolina Senate seat, Lara ultimately decided against it due to family commitments. However, she has not ruled out a future in politics.
